GRENFELL TAKES DEALMAKER CROWN

James Grenfell of Orbis Partners has won the top Dealmaker of the Year prize at Insider's Midlands Dealmakers Awards.

He collected the prize in front of 570 of the region's top professionals, gathered at the Hilton Metropole Hotel, NEC, Birmingham, to celebrate the community's achievements after a year which showed signs of recovery.

Kurt Jacobs, editor of Midlands Business Insider, praised the Midlands dealmaking community, which has helped to buoy the private sector throughout tough years for the economy. "The achievements of the winners and shortlisted tonight, indeed almost every deal completed by you, should be seen for what they are – transactions that not only bring wealth and prosperity to those involved but to the whole business community, to society," he said. "The work you people do builds companies: brings new investment, new ideas, new blood to business. The work you do enriches us all. And you deserve wider, far wider, recognition for this fact."
